Hi, I'm looking for a content management system that is really just a basic system. All I need is a way to upload images (admin only), have their page created, and then a download link for that image.

I do not need a user system nor a comments system or anything of that matter. I'm thinking it might be better just to write some simple php for this, but it's kind of beyond my knowledge. To repeat myself, all I want is page creation for an image that is uploaded, that image is added to the directory, and then that image can be viewed on it's page and is available for download.

I've searched and found many different cms's but most are fancy portals that are much more then I want.

It sounds more like you're looking for a gallery script. Any one of the following can do what you're looking for:
