    FreeBSD control Panel

    Posted on the Control Panel Forum, but no reply. Hope to get some advice here.

    ======

    Anyone has experience with any control panel working on FreeBSD 6.0 ??

    I want to get the latest FreeBSD, but seems no control panel support it.

    Thank you very much!

    I suspect a control panel that works on the 5.x series will work with 6. Most control panels don't go anywhere near the kernel or anything else that would change drastically with the new 6 release.

    Webmin - http://www.webmin.com - is one of the best free control panels. Very easy to install and works on FreeBSD.

    What does that have to do with the topic? As mentioned above no commercial control panels have announced that they work with 6.0, but I can't think of any changes from 5.x to 6.x that would stop them from working.

    It does and I am testing a few servers with FreeBSD 6 and hsphere, only tested with mail & web server would not put the control panel on it but everything else seems to run fine.

    Thank you for all of your reply.
    I mean FreeBSD 6.0, the latest version, not 5.x

    Anyone use Webmin or DirectAdmin on 6.0?

    I will test it (webmin) myself tomorrow, but hope to get confirm from people who have been using this config for some time.

    Great weekend.

    Great weekend.

    i said install the DA 5.x version, which I have running happily on
    freebsd 6 servers. DA don't actually list a '6' version on their
    site....

    Kind of like how DA runs on CentOS quite well, but I don't think they list it on their site either. You'd think they would :/. Anyway, DA is an awsome panel - quick and painless to install and runs like an angel . It has a really clean interface and handles everything a lot better then cPanel does in my opinion.
