    Re-mounting /tmp

    I just have some questions about mounting the /tmp folder.

    http://www.crucialp.com/resources/tu...cpanel-whm.php

    Following this tutorial I just have a couple of questions before I commence.

    What do I do if I already have a tmp partition, simply follow the tutorial as is or does something else need to be done when a tmp partition already exists?

    It states that a symlink had to be created for mysql.sock again, what does this exactly mean? After backing up the contents of tmp, what has to be done regarding mysql.sock to ensure successful operation.

    Thanks in advance!

    Your /tmp folder has a symlink to a sock file thats located in /var/lib/mysql/ which is used to run mysql

    mysql.sock -> ../../var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock

    Supposidly its created when mysql is started but doesnt always seem to be the case for some, I have had to manually create it then restart mysql
