    Hello

    I keep recieving this message on my SSH, do anyone know what is wrong?

    I use kernel 2.6.9, CentOS 4.2, cpanel box

    must be you doing some command with a extra "-" in there. that message usually appear on cento server .

    try remove that "-" in your command.

    I am now running NO command now as

    [email protected] [/var/log]#
    [email protected] [/var/log]#
    [email protected] [/var/log]# Warning: bad syntax, perhaps a bogus '-'? See /usr/share/doc/procps-3.2.3/FAQ

    even I type nothing on, it still shows errors!

    httpd error log looks normal

    That error usually comes out of the "ps" command when you do something like "ps-ax" instead of "ps ax" - it still runs but warns you that the "-" shouldn't be there and may nt be supported in future.

    Do you have any scripts running in the background that might be running "ps" or similar to obtain process information?

    I turned off putty and start it again, error seems gone

    does this mean that errors like this is basically no harms?

    no harm. it just that cento don't recognise that "-" well.

    I am guessing that this is caused by something like SIM running in the background.
