    two version of php running?

I updated php to 4.4.1 but running php -v via SSH it shows:

    [email protected] [~]# php -v
    PHP 4.3.11 (cli) (built: Sep 28 2005 04:08:36)

But in cpanel it shows 4.4.1

I restarted apache and even reboot the server.. same thing.

Also when i run rkhunter it shows the following:

    - PHP 4.4.1 [ Unknown ]
    - PHP 4.3.11 [ OK ]

    How can i fix this?

    Thanks in advance.

May be you have two versions of phpinstalled in different locations.

    try

    locate php|grep bin

I noticed that version 4.3.11 is located here /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/bin/php

and the new updated version is /usr/bin/php

rkhunter still does the same after being updated how can i fix this so i have one version installed?

    run this command:

    whereis php

    you will probabaly find:

    /usr/local/bin/php

    and /usr/bin/php

    being two different versions..

the cpanel version is NOT picked up by rkhunter, so ignore that.

    /usr/local/bin/php

May be installed manually before installing the Cpanel version of PHP.

I think its safe to remove from server. Check if its installed with rpm, if yes, you can use rpm -e option to remove it.

If its complied, have to delete binary, not sure.

Cpanel has its own internal PHP version hence the two versions

/scripts/makecpphp will installs Cpanels version, easyapache will install the one you selected
