Looking for a UK Hosting Company

    Hello
I am trying to put together my first website & need web page hosting. I have been reading this forum for the last couple of weeks trying to find a good review on a uk web hosting company.

I have taken the advice of other posts and asked host quote for quotes from other web hosting companies. But they all seem to be located in Canada or the US. The only problem I have is the US & Canada are 6 - 8 hours behind the UK & if I do something stupid & need to speak to someone, they need to be available during office hours.

I have search the serach engines & have come up with some hosting companies.

    1. Seven Internet.
    2. Nameline.
    3 studio 54.

I have called all three companies I have a good reponse from Seven Internet & Nameline.

Does anyone have any experience of these companies?

I haven't got reviews on any of those 3 web hosts you mentioned. If you are looking for UK web hosts and haven't decided yet, you also might take a look at Conquer Hosting and TodHost. They are both in the UK and perform pretty well.

    Hi,

For someone who runs a hosting search site like yourself, i was wondering why you chose conquerhosting.com when a quick check of their IPs shows the servers are in the USA.
Is it because they are listed top at http://www.hostingspeeds.com/index.p...&order=overall ???

Personaly i would not recomend them for the following reasons :
    Whois details are witheld.
Domain was only registered in 02 May 2005
There is no contact address on their site.
Their signup page is not working at http://conquerhosting.com/acc/
And the servers are in the usa http://www.dnsstuff.com/tools/whois.ch?ip=69.16.203.126

I have not even started looking at TodHost and cannot be bothered.

So on http://www.hostingspeeds.com can a server in the USA get UK listing on your site ?

TodHost does look better however could not find a contact phone number for them. Must answer support issues via email.

I've heard good things about unitedhosting.co.uk If that helps..Matt is very friendly and runs a great ship. Also, rackspace seem very professional but a little expensive!

Seems nobody does, or can't read.
