shared vs dedicated on a low volume, high sales site

A user asked the question in the #wht chat room. JohnnyCash is of the opinion that a shared hosting environment would be sufficient for the following site. I am of the opinion that a dedicated server would be a better investment.

Site: 100gb/month traffic, $750,000 in sales/year (though very low profit margins)

Now, in your opinion, would it be a better investment for a company to go with a shared hosting environment or a deddicated server?

If security is an important factor, I'd go with a dedicated server (having other local users on the server can increase the security risk). Anyway, seems like a lot of bandwidth for a shared hosting account...
