What we're playing around with, is the ability to snail mail files for hosting. Is this to an extreme? Our research has indicated that clients, especially the small businesses who don't already have a website, are more likely to come on board if they send us documents via CD. It takes one hurdle out of the way. what do others think? Obviously the cost of doing such a procedure, is passed on. However, I think it definately opens up new opportunities.

We do this for our clients already, although we have yet to have a client mail the documents on CD. Rather, local clients will usually give us their files on a CD when we are in their offices, and we will it back to our office where we upload them.
Works great, and with these kind of clients, they expect an hourly rate, so they get an hourly rate. (On top of the monthly hosting fees of course).

It's nothing new. If a client is willing to snail mail us their files, we will be glad to do it. We also do the reverse i.e burn backups for clients to dvd-rs.
Whatever the client is happy with, and we can do it without killing ourselves, we will do it.

Why would you want backup of the whole website delivered as email attachment ?
There are a lot of scripts to help you with that.

No not e-mail, he means snail mail (via the postal system on a CD).
