ModernBill server management question

Hi,

I am looking into modernbill but they have no email address on their site to ask product questions so i was hoping to get some advice here

Does anyone know if you are able to do the following?

I plan to use a dedicated server and a VPS. Could i add both of these through the modernbill server management? Can you add a VPS to it just as you would a normal server?

For example id have 1 strong dedicated box and a VPS.. I would put higher needs clients on the dedicated machine and plan to put personal websites or sites that get almost 0 web traffic onto the VPS.

Also it would be great if i can move clients from 1 server to another... if joe blow signs up and i initially put him onto the VPS and 3 months later he suddenly needs more resources i could transfer him over to the stronger dedicated server? Can you move sites from server to server?

I guess the main question is, can i use VPS accounts and add them into my modernbill server list?

My dedicated servers and my VPS accounts would all be with the same hosting company.

Thanks
Dave

Yes, you can have any kind of account in your server list. It would work with a reseller account no problems.

It won't move accounts between servers for you (that I've ever been able to figure out). You have to do the move and update the user account manually.

I've been happy with MB for the nearly 1 year I've been using it.

so the move from server to server can be done though? Is it easy to do manually?

I wonder if modernbill 5 will do automated moving.

Modernbill has the edge when it comes to custom applications. I used several others before finally switching to MB.

We use it for everything from shared webhosting accounts to game servers, voice servers and dedicateds. The dedicated packages are nice since you can set 'addons' like extra ram, Bandwidth blocks etc which alot of others simply cannot do with any amount of custom coding..

Last I checked MB charged a small fortune for any support calls. I don't believe they have an email address for support just the help desk that you have to be a member to use..

You might have better luck asking your questions on their forums.

this seems weird to have no contact solution for a potential customer who might have questions before they buy. I guess ill use their phone # but they should know that a lot of us tech guys fear phones!!

See the "Presales" across the top?

I doubt modernbill would be able to move accounts by itself.

That would require some serious integration with the control panels.

Modernbill doesn't do this, but it will change the plan settings for you. Moving accounts is something that personal I wouldnt' want Modernbill to do. It already is questionable sometimes just using the integrated software with the CP and reguires user intervention sometimes to make it work.
