Could not connect: Got an unknown RCPT TO response

    Hi all,

When I use www.dnsreport.com to test my email account, I get this report

Trying to connect to all mailservers:

domain.com. - 216.x.x.x [Could not connect: Got an unknown RCPT TO response: 550-test.dnsstuff.com (test.DNSreport.com) [66.36.241.109] is currently not
550-permitted to relay through this server. Perhaps you have not logged into
550-the pop/imap server in the last 30 minutes or do not have SMTP
550 Authentication turned on in your email client.
    ]

    How to fix this error?

    Thanks

It means your mailserver will not send out spam which is good....This means you have to authenticate with the mailserver before sending out email.

Enable authentication in your mail client. If you cannot figure out what that is you need to post your email client or perhaps do some reading on google. Email authentication is very basic and should be easy to find in an email client.

Looks like the domain you are sending to points to a server it's not setup on.
So the domain is not listed as a local domain - it therefore thinks you are trying to use it as an open relay, and it's rejecting it. You need the domain to be added to the list of local domains.

I already authenticate in my emai client but then I get:

The message could not be sent because one of the recipients was rejected by the server. The rejected e-mail address was [email protected]'. Subject 'What a test', Account: 'mydomain.com.vn', Server: 'mydomain.com.vn', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '451 Temporary local problem - please try later', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 451, Error Number: 0x800CCC79

    So, what is the problem?

    Anything in the mailserver logs?
    What mailserver you using?

So you are trying to allow authenticated relaying or is there another problem?

Perhaps you have not logged into the pop/imap server in the last 30 minutes

Just make sure you do a 'Receive All' before Sending. That will log you into your eMail account -- for the next 30 minutes -- and you'll have no problem sending.
