Searching for a dedicated windows server - what do you think of velcom
Ok guys I have read these forums up and down and have been searching for a host that can fit my needs. I think I have found the host that can meet all my needs let me know what you think of them. Also note if any providers look at this and can make a better offer let me know I can also provide my own licenses for any MS software as we are a MS partner. We are currently hosting approx. 30 websites on our t1 w/ cogent and we want to provide our customers with more reliablity that we can't affrod to offer.
My Needs:
Windows 2003 Server Std.
Raid 1 hdd size has to be over 40 gb.
Mail Server,ftp server( i can use windows ftp server), virus, and spam protection for mail clients.
Stats Server
Ability to backup all windows,iis settings and data.
Also need a control panel.
Prefer hardware firewall protection.

Get same configuration from sfwebhost.com for less + more advanced and powerful USA backbone (Velcom is Canadian based)

That looks like the same thing godaddy.com has and godaddy is cheaper. Plus the server I put together on their is more expensive. Anybody got any other suggestions.

I would like to see some more responses in reguards to velcom service. Is it good quality backbone or not. Please someone let me know as I need to put in an order on Monday.

and i have used the search function!!! for every host i have looked at... not to mention that post about velcom was from over a yr ago

Hold your horses. Velcom is not one of the more popular web host that people use here and thus it is prudent not to comment on a host which we do not have any experience on.
This is the first time I heard about them and so it is hard to say how they are.
