    Uploading files to server

What's the fastest way to upload 10,000 files to my server?

It takes me 3 minutes to upload a 100 php page web site(300KB total) with Cute FTP.

I have a million files to test... any advice?

Not sure... maybe compressing them into one large archive and decompressing it on the server using SSH (or asking your host to do it for you)?

I only have shared hosting, but I'll get VPS soon and then it's dedicated.

Does a highly compressed file unzip faster than none at all?

You could just send them on a CD to the host? (That is if they have convenient access to the server you want to put them on)

You can always used a web based ftp proxy for that also, most web based FTP proxys have compression/decompression tools.

The best way is to zip it up with WinZip and upload the zip file thru FTP.
Then extract the zip file right on the server thru CPanel filemanager.
