I think if you're in India, you're most probably safe. UNLESS Google has registered it's name as the trademark there, which I don't know.

You can register although expect a cease and desist letter from their lawyers a few weeks after you register it

Why use the Google name in the first place?
Google also owns Google.co.in, so..

Don't build a website around it. No point building traffic and then getting a cease and desist notice or having the registrar disable the domain name. There is no need to inform Google, just let it expire and don't use the name.

Try and come up with an original name...
Why copy a successful online company and risk getting the cease and desist notice?

Your best bet is to disable any active hosting (incl. forwarding), let it expired, AND NOT to mention this to anybody else. Good luck.

if you want to use it without being sued for trademark and taken away from you, you need to take permission using this link http://www.google.com/permissions/

How did just****inggoogleit.com get away with it in fact? Or is that operated by Google itself?

I agree with the sentiment of "Don't scare the guy".
Using someone else's trademark is not going to get you thrown into jail. Just be prepared to cease and desist if they ask you to.
Try and get permission. If they say "yes" all well and good. If they say "no" find another domain (they're cheap enough!). In the meantime delay developing or promoting the domain in case they say "no".

Just curious: WHY would Google grant the permission?
By the way, trademark infringement *could* have serious consequences other than just getting a cease and desist letter and then cease and desist using the trademark.Co-Founder @HostHideout. It is high unlikely google "granted permission", this would set a bad precedent for them so I seriously doubt they would start here.

You also have to remember that a "google" is a unit of measurement 10 to the power of 100 so if the site was not in competition with Google services and had a relationship to the name I can't see how they would have much of a trademark case - but I am no trademark lawyer.

From Google:"Googol" is the mathematical term for a 1 followed by 100 zeros. The term was coined by Milton Sirotta, nephew of American mathematician Edward Kasner, and was popularized in the book, "Mathematics and the Imagination" by Kasner and James Newman. Google's play on the term reflects the company's mission to organize the immense amount of information available on the web.

Well recently google wanted to sue googlesucks.com and google lost. But you don't want to go through that trouble.
