OS recommendation needed
Hello,
I'm planning to rent a dedicated server, but I'm not sure which OS I should choose. The server will be used for a web-based chat coded in Perl (GTChat), and with Cerberus HelpDesk.
Which one would you recommend? Suse 9.1 or Debian 3.0?
Thanks.█ MaxterHost ► simply different.

Between the two I would go with Debian (just personal preferance). Keep in mind that 90% of OS selection is basically what you are comfortable with.

Debian, I always see SuSe as more of a desktop OS...

After I searched for more options, I found out that Debian is more popular and better than Suse (as a server OS). I chose Debian.

Debian is an awesome distribution, and IMO, the best linux distro currently out there...
