Careers - Help!

I've always been interested in the computing industry, and want to get a degree to build a future for myself. This got me thinking, the demand for techs, datacentre wise, shop repair wise doesn't seem huge. Small time techs are often foreign cheaper labour. So if this is the case, there isn't much point in me getting certifications as a CCNA and MS Certified Professional. So then I thought PHP, C/C++! How big a demand is there for employees in this market sector? I know the computing industry is rather saturated, so I don't want to enter into a potentially dying market when I want a career. Does anyone have any advice on what I should study for?

Thanks

Being a programmer (Java and such) or a database administrator (Oracle) and such, seem pretty big hits right now.

But things change so often.

Do your research and go with what you're interested in!

I have multiple degrees and have never regretted that. I chose a few different majors based on the statement you made above. It worked for me and gave me something to fall back on.

Bottom line, do what works for you!
