Took these pics of a parade in downtown Naha on Saturday:

There's going to be the world's largest tug of war today (Sunday). The rope weighs 40 tons and about 25,000 men and women pull for either team. Don't know if I'll brave the traffic and take the wife and kids to see it. The rope is so big that they have people walking back and forth on it. The tug-of-war dates back to the 1600s.
