Is Cobalt still making 733MHZ?

Hi,

Is Cobalt still making the COBALT RAQ XTR 733MHZ/256RAM/60GB(2x30) or are they only making the new 850MHZ and up?

I saw a "NEW" 733 on Ebay and asked the seller for the manafacturing date and he sent me a date of March 15 2002. I am wandering if it is possible or not!

Thank you,

Cobalt now has 3 different models of the RaQ XTR, using 2 types of CPUs.

The cheepest one comes with a 850Mhz CPU
and the other two come with a 1GHz CPU...

*Why the **** no 2000+ ??? *

As long as I know, the 733MHz model isn't in production since moths....

greetz...

(sarcasm)

OH MY THEY'VE IMPROVED FROM THEIR 450MHz RAQ 4r SINCE?!

(/sarcasm)

For those users who have the XTR's, how are they? I remember talking to Jacques from EFS on the phone about why Cobalt hasn't made any faster CPU servers

j "stuck with his 4r" t

Hehe
Mmmm...
Indeed...

Cobalts machines do not use the most advanced and fastest CPU's, but... do you know an alternative with a comperative price in 1u rack format AND having a Web Based Management interface for both yourself and your customers...?

Greetingz...

* ....

But what is the difference between the 733 and 850's (besides the speed)?

Was there a problem with the 733 and 933 because they were recalled or something like that?

Thanks

The whole XTR 7xx & 9xx series were recalled back in March/April 2001 because ALL UNITS were DEFECTIVE.
These servers were flawed and not useable in a production environment (want a list? go here: http://list.cobalt.com/pipermail/cob...ay/032089.html)
All units were recalled (RMA) and you could either get your money back or get 2 RaQ4r's in exchange for your XTR (..LOL..)

If you see any offers for a 7xx or 9xx, avoid them. You have been warned.

The only valid models are the 850s & 1Ghz ones.

Cheers,
BluFrog
