Wake on LAN, how does it work?
Greetings,
I was wondering how can I use Wake on LAN feature. My motherboard ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe supports it.
Currently I'm leaving my computer on for a day while at work and connect remotely to it from my office computer.
Can I turn on computer remotely using wake on LAN feature? I use Windows Remote Desktop.
Thanks!How's my programming? Call 1-800-DEV-NULL

Do a search for "magic packet". You'll need to know the MAC address of your nic, then knowing your IP (public) address create a magic packet using your mac and send the packet. Make certain port 9 is forwarded to your PC if you are using a router.
