W3c Dom

I am building a site that will require a browser to support iframes. Would it be safe to assume that if the browser supports iframes, then it must support the W3C DOM functionality in javascript (getElementById, style property, etc)?

More or less. If a browser supports "current" HTML, it should be able to handle atleast basic JS and CSS.

innova does have a point, however--there's very few instances where I can see an iFrame being necessary.

If you didn't know, there's a CSS property called "overflow". If you look it up, you can allow div's to have scrollbars, which mimics the style of an iFrame.

You can use the Object tag to include your file.

<object data="thefileyouwant.html" type="text/html" />

But with Internet Explorer you need to set the height and width.

object { width: 500px; height: 500px; }
