tough control panel question
Here is the problem. I am currently get unbeatable deals on this certain managed dedicated server package I have; here is the catch, the company that manages it will not set it up with cPanel, and their custom control panel does not have built in resale abilites.
I am offered the option of going unmanaged and installing it myself;however, they will charge me the same, and I'm not much of a server admin, so i'd have to hire out.
Any quick fixes? or advice?

Why not look at a different managed server provider? There are a plethora of managed providers, please let us know your budget so that we can suggest one to you.

I have a hunch this is the reason:

However, given the situation, it does seem that another managed provider would be the better choice.
EDIT: I'll move this to the Dedicated Server Forum.

idcdc is correct. I do realize the large number of managed dedicated host providers, and have in fact done massive amounts of research into this market.
Let us just assume for the purposes of discretion and discussion that it would be far, far more profitable to remain with current host. Even if it meant accepting the same package unmanaged and paying 30+/month for management, and 35/month for cPanel.
It would, of course, be much easier and cost efficient if there was a different way of doing this, which is why I was wondering if anyone on WHT has had experience with it, or overcome similar challenges.

You can always pick up a DirectAdmin monthly license for cheap and install it yourself if the deal is so good you don't need cPanel, just something that will work.

If it does not suit your purpose, it is no more any great deal.
They are right to have you drop the management part of the service as they cannot offer something that they cannot deliver.

fair enough. I was hoping someone had done this before.
My current thought is to get a reseller account, then redirect most traffic to other servers. I guess i'll try that out.
Thanks for the help

Choose something that you really need, else its a waste even it costs a dime.
You may go for servint / liquidweb for cpanel fully managed.
