Question Exchange Server Mail Configuration - Linux Cpanel

One of our client have configured their MX record on our site to correspond to their static IP of their ISP connection. For some reason some emails are bouncing back.

They believe it is a DNS issue at our end as it only occurs with certain businesses that must have certain configurations that are sensitive to DNS/MX records.

They are using exchange server for their internal network.

We checked and all the dns, ip etc are working fine, no problems there.

What is the standard procedure to configure mail through exchange?

    Any suggestions, ideas?

You weren't clear on how this is setup, but you imply that you have an IP address for the mx record. Technically the mx record is supposed to be a domain name, not an IP address.[1]

I don't think this is very strictly enforced but I've seen similar problems where this will break some senders but not other. If this is the case I would set up an A entry for the customer's ip and then have the mx record be that A entry.
