Need a shared host, help

Hi guys,

I have a VPS with Pvps and their support have been exceptionally good! Currently I'm looking for a shared hosting for emergency communication purposes (forum, email) incase the server is down, so that I wont lose contact with my clients. Also to host my personal web design portfolio. Nothing much.

Current contact area is hosted in S**p*ss but I've had enough of their rude & annoying customer service . I've been scouting around and site5 looked like a good replacement S**p*ss. But they dont offer cPanel and that's for me is pretty important.

Here's my req :

Budget : $6/mo
Space : At least 300mb
B/w : At least 10gb
What I require : cPanel, php, mysql, at least 3 addons domains, at least 5 mysql databases (unlimited is even better ) & great support (email support is fine). I think I've been spoiled by pvps so I expect other site's support to be as good as theirs

Checked the offers section. I paid peanuts for S**p*ss and I got monkeys, so I'm not interested in price cuts

Thanks

shudubear,

There are quite a few hosts available with exceptional support and service who can easily meet your pricing/standards.

Hunt around the forums.
Just a note: Don't throw any host your money without performing the proper research though, otherwise you'll be in the same situation as you were with S**p*ss!

There're plenty of hosts who could offer you what you are looking for within your budget. However make sure you do your homework before signing up with a new host. You can use the Site Search @ WHT to find reviews of hosts that you are interested in.

Even I would suggest, you do a good research before buyng any hosting... You can search google, wht read reviews, test the support lines etc before making a decision...

Searching WHT for reviews would be very helpful..

All the best

You should have no trouble finding a host that meets your requirements. Contact the host before signing up to test their support response times.

As everyone said, a little bit of research can save you a lot of hassle.

Best of luck

You will have to pay a bit more than the original $8 in order to a get all that under Lunarpages' smallest package (Shuttle).

Site5's NetAdmin control panel is actually just a cPanel skin with a few external goodies attached, IIRC.

I cannot give you any specific recommendations... yes, Lunarpages cost a bit more than you want to pay it seems...

Most hosts nowadays offer much more than 10GB transfer in their entry-level plans. Since you don't require very much you could go for a host that offers less of that but more support power...

I would certainly recommend www.bluehost.com . I looked at your needs and I think bluehost matches it all.

The price is $7.95/mo if you pay yearly. It's a bit more than your last host but is certainly worth it. I have an account with them and have been very happy so far.

As I said folks, I just need a decent host with a small b/w and space & a GOOD customer service.

LP has gotten a lot good remarks regarding their services so I dont really mind forkin out a lil bit more for their cheapest package.

But still looking. Thanks for all the replies

yep, Lunarpages is also a very good option. I also have an account with them and again I have not had any issues with them.

They also recently improved their packages. Go ahead with lunarpages.

I have been hosting with a new host, mabushosting they have been pretty good. I have not really had to much down time. They tend to respond quicker to emails I find than anything else. Like I call usually just get transferred to a voice mail, but when I send in an email or trouble ticket they usually respond the same day and send back a detailed step by step when I run into problems. Have any of you ever used them? I don't really like their phone support but everything else has been pretty good for me. You could check them out.

Most of hosting companies have trial period(money back guarantee days). Try and if you don't like just get refund that will be best way once you decide your host.
