Hi all, my problem is that I've registered at DTS-NET hosting.
The package I've purchased was for $25/year including free .com domain.
Right after I've registered I began noticing the problems:
-lack of support - It took them about a week to answer any help request I sent.
-server crashes - so far I am aware of 5 times that the server and my website had crashed.
at this stage they are not answering any of my emails for about a month already and they don't answer phone calls or get back on messeges, and today even my website had crashed again and I'm actually losing money on it already.
What can I do? I'd be glad to transfer my domain, but I cannot ask them to change my servername for my domain cause they don't answer.
Appriciate all of your answers.
my domain name is: internet-casinos-information.com

That's the problem when signning up with a host that throws in a free domain name ~ You can't get your domain name back until you can reach them and ask for it ~
And there is a possiblity that they will not give it back to you because it comes with the package you signed up with them ~

If you are getting huge profit from running that site, then you might want to seek for legal assistance ~
Otherwise, if you are just starting that site which does not have visitors, then I think it is a waste of time and money for legal service just for getting back that $10 domain name ~

If they registered your domain under their own name, it would be even more difficult to get it back ~

I do have profit from that site, but it won't cover legal assistance.
and yes, I believe the domain name is also registered under their name.
I'll wait 1 week to see if they respond before I'll contact a lawyer.
thanks to all of you and watch out from them.

If I may say so, I hope you also learned your lesson. $25 per year including a domain name means this host is likely to be running on paper-thin margin or to vastly oversell their servers.
And like in many other reported cases, you experience the same as others who choose this kind of low cost solutions: lack of support, poor uptime and numerous crashes.
Do not hesitate to raise your budget. This is especially important if your site is generating revenues. Paying a fair price for a reliable host will give you a tremendous ROI on your money investment and your time investment in your site. I am sure you have better things to do than being frustrated with lack of support and site crashes.
I hope you can get your domain back and wish you Good luck!

Well put. I see this over and over: people sign up with some dirt-cheap host and get the domain reg from same.
Then when they want to move on the real problems begin...
The best remedy is to follow the old adage: "Better safe than sorry"...
Meaning: do some research first to get some idea of a host's quality.
AND to be safe: do not register the domain name thru the host.

It seems to me that legal action is something you can't justify to yourself.
While waiting for their answer, you could try and find out if Yahoo (the domain's registrar) or ICANN can help out in any way. You might have to provide some type of evidence that you paid for that domain.
According to whois.sc/internet-casinos-information.com it would appear that the domain's registrant is an individual. Is that your name? If so, you might have a shot at getting control over it.

Dan, if you look at the e-mail address in the whois, it looks like it belongs to DTS-NET.

Yes, I saw that. I didn't mean that he can transfer it out. If the host refuses to respond, he does need to get some evidence that the domain is rightfully his. He's in a pretty tough situation as far as I can tell. Having his name stated in the whois (even though the email address is not under his control) would only help.

$25 a year with a domain as well. It amazes me how people want to spend peanuts but get first class service and support. Even at a cost of $7 to the host for the domain, they are only then making $18 a year for the hosting. Converting that for me to GBP would be about £10 per year.
I bet those same people that buy the cheapest hosting package they can find, don't buy the cheapest clothese they can find. I wish people understood that quality costs money. In the same way you wouldn't exepect to get a pair of Levi's for $5, or a BMW for the price of a Lada.
As always, you get what you pay for.

To clarify why I purchased that hosting package:
I looked around for a while and checked other hosting companies websites to see what they offer.
When I got to DTS-NET I found everything else I needed (I do need minimal hosting requirements) for this Site.
Seeing that they offer 24/7 costumer support and actualy getting them on the first call attemp (as I don't live at the same country it's expensive calls) was assuring to me that I'm dealing with a serious company that is here long enough and has many clients (their PR on google is 5).
And no the name that appears on the whois does not belong to me neither any other evidence of information.
I've learned my lesson definetly, but I am still in quite a Jam.
I will try to contact Yahoo to see if they can help me.
mean time, my website is back online, so atleast I'm not losing money (except the $25 spent).
