y can't i download firefox?

i was wondering if someone might be able to help me out here. i'm running windows 2000 pro and when i go to download firefox, it says something about activex components and it won't finish the download, well it won't even start the download. it doesn't even go as far as to ask if i want to save it or open it.

what is wrong here?

i sure hope someone can help.

thank you

I wrote a tutorial once on downloading it using Window's built-in FTP program, but I can't find it for the life of me

I used this script for a customer few month ago:

I no longer remember the website where I installed the script, but it worked fine. There is a free version and a paid one arround $10
