How much big difference between P4 2.4Ghz and P4 2.8Ghz?
Hi all,
I wonder how much big difference between P4 2.4Ghz and P4 2.8Ghz?
just the 0.4ghz difference, i suppose?Linux System admin (since 2001)

hm.. p4 2.4 is non HT while p4 2.8 is HT

I would say some where from 5% to 15% this is just the cpu/mb/bus.
You also have to count that any hardware on the server would be a lot newer than the 2.4 so it cold perform a little better than the old one.

P4 3.2Ghz, 800Mhz FSB HTLinux System admin (since 2001)

The 3.2 will be a fair bit faster with a 800mhz FSB assuming the 2.8ghz has a bus speed of 533mhz
