new to hosting... need a plan

Well im looking to host a lot for cheap... Im probably going to want a quota of 250/500/1000 mb with around 50-100 gig bandwidth. Im looking to host AVI's ect and expect to get a lot of downloads on them so I hope that would be enough.

Whats the best, and cheapest way of getting this kind of deal? Ive been reading reviews and looking at sites and havnt found anything that stuck out yet.

I was looking at the go-daddy deluxe plan and it looks pretty good. Not sure if I should go with that however.

Hope you guys have some suggestions. Thanks!

I would stay away from registrar / hosting companies. They seem to do everything they can to keep you in their grasp and then offer crummy support.

Maybe try the Find a Host option at the top, or go into the offers section. It's not hard to find a host offering what you want, chances are they will be below 10 bucks too.

your budget looks little on lower side for bandwidth of that scale.. Otherwise, there are few very good hosts that would fit in your budget.. do a search here for reviews and collect as much information about hosts as you can..

hey man, you'll find that there are quite a few excellent plans out there for 6.95-8.95.. just do a hostquote, a search on the forum, or just start talking to different hosts that post here.

You may want to up your budget for the amount of bandwidth you are looking for. All my experiences I have had with under $10 a month 100GB bandwidth hosts has not been the best.

I agree. And I suggest you don't just stare at the price tag, but keep an eye of the quality of the service also. Customer satisfaction is one indicator of a host's general reliability.

6.95 if you sign up for 2 years, eh, who's to say if they will even be in business in 2 years. I much prefer to host people monthly.

I have to agree with JoshuaJames. I recommend anyone to sign up for a per month plan. If their cheapest plan requires you to prepay yearly, go somewhere else. Personally I wouldn't want to be out $200-300.

Yea, when I use to run just my website on other providers I definitely went for month to month. Even if it's a little more, you pay for the security. Then if they aren't there one month, which unfortunately is quite common with less established web hosts. You aren't out that much, maybe an extra buck or two.
