    is this spam or what?

    ok i keep realising advertising emails coming to me from me
    for example : From: me@me.com To: me@me.com

    this happens with several different kind of ads comnig in etc about bill gates doing this and that and what not when its not other stuff.

    I am not sure how this is happening but if any one do and can let me know please do, your help is grealty appreciated.

    P.S and also a way to fix this if known.

    I'd suggest spam assassin (which can filter on word/score based rules. I'd also suggest possibly a pop3 client program that will check headers or will throw everything in a junk/unapproved folder from where you can tell it which senders aren't junk.

    Just some options/ideas that may be viable to you on this.

    that is what you call a spoofed email, where the spammer uses a program that forges the sending email address.

    Keep in mind that increasing numbers of spammers are publishing their own SPF records on throwaway domains.

    where to find the config file

    where do i find the spam assasin config file? i think its already install and maybe just need to configure

    Any help is appreciated
