Urgent help required

Hi folks, Nice site.

ive used the search button but cant find what i need.

I own and run a website for a local town and its VERY busy.

ive found recently that the hosting i had wasnt enough and was costing m loads in charges. so i have bought a new hosting.

NOW HERE IS MY PROB

The namservers etc are all swapped over and im REALLY struggling to swap my database over, My site runs a phpbb forum and i cant for the hell of me swap the database to the new hosting.

The sql file for my old database is 20Mb so i cant us Myphpadmin.,

Im really stuck and aint the best with complicated stuff.

Any help would be great as the site is down and i really need the forum back up and going

Best Regards

Bradley

Your Web host should be able to do it for you, Bradley. Try asking them.

use the backup feature in cpanel on your old host to request a backup, download it, extract the database and import it on the new host.

Having the backup is the hard part....

If you have a full backup and it is too large to import phpmyadmin, the most reliable way to do it is via shell. If you don't have shell access, you will need the assistance of your host. If you are unable to find them or obtain their help in a timely manner, maybe you found the wrong new host.

Ask your new host for assistance in getting your site up and running.

Edit: Wait, was this in reference to your new host?

Do they have a phone number for you to call? That may be the best way for you to contact them.

Honestly, if your host can't or won't help you out with a simple matter like that, then I would really suggest to ask for a refund and find yourself a better host which is willing to do this for you.
