Looking for 1U 1000G BW @ Equinix Chicago

I have seen many post in the past and looked at the few good providers that offer co-location services in Equinix Chicago, while they all seem great I am still seeking something better.

I am simply in need of 1U rack space with power and 1,000 gig of bandwidth per month, a speed limit is ok but id like to be able to burst to something decent.

My machine is a 250Watt 1U AMD 64Bit that’s 16" deep.

It seems there are only 2 ways to go at Equinix, buy from a main provider or find someone with a rack and space to spare, so that’s why I am here

I am looking for someone who has room for my 1U server, I will need 24/7 access to the server for emergencies, I should never need on-site support as I am not that far away.

I don’t want to be paying per Mbit, flat monthly fee please.

Thanks, plans are to move the server in on Sept 5th.

agreed, I am on their premium network and it is very nice. Good people to deal with, and great prices for the level of a product they provide

So you don't want premium then? Why pick Equinix?

I would contact steadfast direct and see what you can come up with for pricing and bandwidth.

Yeah, second the motion. Can't have your cake and eat it too in that facility.

Not saying I dont want premium, or am not willing to pay, just really dont want to pay per Mbit, gowebmin does 1000G 3Mbps for $99, well see what happens in the next few days after I get in touch with some people.

Just wanted some leads on other places besides the mainstream ones everyone knows of.

Why is Equinix important? With only 1U I'd be much more concerned with the network connections than the facility.

I'll give you a tip.

Gowebman is NOT Steadfast. If you get my point ;-)

I get your point, I've heard plenty of stuff about Gowebman, not where I want to host at, just comparing rates.

gowebman doesn't do actual 1000 gigs of transfer. Look into that deal, you are really just getting 3mbps. Depending on your traffic patterns you wont be getting 1000 gigs of usage.

I want to recomend this company as an alternative to a Chicago location. This data center is located 90 miles from Chicago. I think they have a Chicago location where they are a major player in the mirror newsgroup biz. I have a 1u server on order and when it gets here I am putting it into the DC. Although their entry level is $50 including everything the South Bend DC is very underutilized so you would have access to their full bw.

Actually I am from South Bend/Mishawaka and they are a little over 100 miles east of Chicago. South Bend/Mishawaka is in Indiana anyway, a completely different state.

Anyway it looks like these people are just a reseller of www.custom.net(however dont quote me on that) and all their bandwidth is back hauled from Chicago anyway, so you might as well go to the source.
