Namecheap selling UK domains?

I've been away for a short while, and suddenly noticed that Namecheap are selling UK domains!

How long has this been going on? Why havn't they sold them up until now?

Basically, I use Namecheap for ALL my domains apart from UK ones, which I use UKreg for (little on the expensive side), but now I see Namecheap are offering them too, I may start transfering them all over to Namecheap...although "shouldn't keep all your eggs in one basket"...hmm!

Hmm, quite a while I think.

I do seem to get quite a few timeout errors when trying to manage .co.uk domains throught the CP though....

enom's CCTLD platform is pretty bad. Go with one of the known co.uk providers

UKreg expensive?? Less than 3 GBP per year for a .co.uk = expensive ??

That's less than what I pay when visiting the local curry house I would not call that expensive

They would only be making 50p per reg if that was the price. There's got to be a catch somewhere.

As mentioned in another thread, it's called a "loss leader". Sell your basics cheap in the hope that people will buy the extras that bring in the money. Hosting in the case of UKreg/Fasthosts.
