Yay! New piercings!
I was getting that itch to get pierced again, though it hasn't even been two weeks since my last one, so I headed down to Jade Dragon and got some more metal in me! I decided to have my nipples repierced and I'm very happy. I had them done previously but they were done crooked and I picked barbells over CBRs (poor decision) so I had problems getting them to heal correctly and after a good while had to take them out. So now I'm freshly pierced with a pretty pair of CBR's in my nips!
Not counting my ear, this brings my overall total piercing count to 8 (since each nipple counts individually) and my 'currently in body' piercing count to 4. Having my nipple rings back feel good, and I wish I could have the two barbells put back into my tongue but after all the dental work I've had done I made a deal with my dentist not to have another tongue ring.
This might not be the usual kind of thread for the Lounge but I'm in a state of 'Piercing Euphoria' so I'm excited and wanted to share. It's a good feeling I get after a great piercing session! I'd share pictures, but honestly even I don't like seeing me without a shirt on so I won't subject you all to that.
For those who are curious, I had 8 earrings in my left ear that I had to remove for a job. I don't really count them as piercings since it's just the ear, but I'm considering getting a Scaffold (or Industrial depending on your taste) done on my right ear and getting a few rings put back into the left ear. Thankfully my health problems don't effect my ability to heal a piercing, so I'm allowed to play around and get holes put into things

I clearly disagree Some piercings enhance while some do take away. I'm not a fan of the trendy naval rings or tiny little nostril rings that girls get, but a pretty girl with a nice labret or monroe, maybe a septum ring even, can really make her more appealing.
It's really all dependant on the girl, or guy which ever your preference. I have the labret and septum ring myself and that alone sparks conversations with girls who are curious about piercings. Gets into talk of tattoo's and I show them the pretty tat on my back. Sometimes that can lead to more interesting things and sometimes you just get to meet nice people and have fun.
People often see me and think I'm going to be a punk kid (even though I'm 23) and are pleasently surprised when they find out I'm a nice guy. Piercings give people a nice way to break the ice even when it's just with the classic "Did that hurt?" question. Met all kinds of people I might never have talked to because of them. Add that to my own slight addiction to piercings and it makes for a fun time no matter where I go. But then again, I'm a college kid and these are the days I'm supposed to "experiment" so I'm just having fun while I can!

I've considered getting my eyebrow peirced, but I'm afraid of having an infection come upon my face.

Well good for your dentist
Hopefully you will be a fortunate one and not end up with "speech problems" caused from some of those tongue piercings. Thats been known to happen on down the road.
I dont care for the piercings or tattoo, when it comes to your body BUT if one must do it I say wait until you are about 40 and if you still want to do it at that age, then go for it.

By the time someone is 40 they are smart enough to not stick metal through their flesh

I find piercings to be quite repulsive most of the time.
Not to mention the many health issues with them, even at the cleanest of places.

The eyebrow isn't a good place to get pierce as is. Even when you heal perfectly all piercings leave scar tissue. In a place like that it's easy to see after you remove it. My septum ring can be hidden with a bullet so no one would ever see it (I have one, and wear it sometimes and people can't tell I ever had it done). With the advent of the newer retainers and "No-C-Ums" you can hide almost any piercing.
Neither barbell effected my speech, although it did leave me with a slightly larger then average tongue. That has been far from a set back though, the girls seem to like it.

Most companies just have a rule on visible piercings. They can't police what they can't see. So my tattoo and other piercings won't ever be an issue because they will never see them.
This actually isn't something I rushed into. I waited from 16 to 20 until I got anything done and I waited until 22 before getting the tattoo I've always wanted. I'm very happy with it and people of all age ranges have complimented it. Interestingly enough once I started getting into the piercings and showed I was not only willing to get it done but put in the time it takes for proper aftercare my own Mother went down with me and get her tongue pierced. She's even thinking about getting a tattoo but I'm making her wait at least 2 years to be sure it's really something she wants. Properly cared for and cleaned piercings won't cause any health problems. Most kids only follow the aftercare instructions until it heals and then think it's dandy to just forget about it. That's where problems come from! I go through so much dial soap keep my piercings clean (wash them all at least 2-3 times a day) and wear high grade jewelry that my piercings are cleaner then most people's bodies
One reason I enjoy talking to people about piercings is there's a lot of stuff that just isn't right which is taken as common knowledge. I've had people flag me down in a mall 3 weeks after talking to me because they decided to go get a piercing after talking to me. I help them out with the aftercare and reinforce good cleaning habits and they never have any problems. I guess it's really all in the individual. Just don't look down on something until you try it, you might be surprised if you do!
