Only one DNS... should I be concerned

I have reseller account, I have noticed that when I create a new account, it only lists one dns server with it rambles all the text and conformations when its setting up the account. I have another reseller account for my private use it is lists two dns's when it lists

Also about two weeks ago our sites were down for hours at a time multiple days, Now he has taken down awstats saying this was the reason why his server was hacked into and the reason why the sites were down. Awstats is still down.

Should I be concerned?

Does it mean that he only uses one server, I dont know a whole lot about dns stuff, so when I there are two different dns's, do they each point to two separate servers?

Just because someone has two Nameservers doesn't mean that they point to two different servers.

Try using this tool and then post the results and we can probably help you decipher what they mean.

3 failures came up so I pasted them below

FAIL,Missing (stealth) nameservers FAIL:

You have one or more missing (stealth) nameservers. The following nameserver(s) are listed (at your nameservers) as nameservers for your domain, but are not listed at the the parent nameservers (therefore, they may or may not get used, depending on whether your DNS servers return them in the authority section for other requests, per RFC2181 5.4.1). You need to make sure that these stealth nameservers are working; if they are not responding, you may have serious problems! The DNS Report will not query these servers, so you need to be very careful that they are working properly.

dns2.wadepro.com.dns1.wadepro.com.
This is listed as an ERROR because there are some cases where nasty problems can occur (if the TTLs vary from the NS records at the root servers and the NS records point to your own domain, for example).

FAIL Missing nameservers 2 ERROR:

One or more of the nameservers listed at the parent servers are not listed as NS records at your nameservers. The problem NS records are:
dns1.host30.net.
dns2.host30.net

FAIL Stealth NS record leakage Your DNS servers leak stealth information in non-NS requests:

Stealth nameservers are leaked [dns2.wadepro.com.]!
Stealth nameservers are leaked [dns1.wadepro.com.]!

This can cause some serious problems (especially if there is a TTL discrepancy). If you must have stealth NS records (NS records listed at the authoritative DNS servers, but not the parent DNS servers), you should make sure that your DNS server does not leak the stealth NS records in response to other queries.

I have another question,

Can I put in dns info from two different hosting companys, say two from one company and two from another in the four slots on my domain account.

Also anyone know much about those failures above?

The failures above are serious ones and are bound to create problems. It just looks like it was sloppy when it was set up rather than some major issue. Entries need to be added to the DNS zone at host30 (which is just a parked domain) and wadepro, then you will begin resolving correctly.

Contact your host with this report and have them correct their NS records. There really isn't anything you are going to be able to do on your own to fix this.
