Mod Security make a problem!


hi all,
Mod Security prevent some user from installing some scripts because the address contain something like "%,^oiseff.suye".

how do i stop Mod Security for a while and run it again?

go in your httpd.conf and comment out the modsecurity.c, then when your done, uncomment.

You can also look at the audit_log for the exact rule causing the problem and disable it. The problem with mod_security is that it is only as good as the ruleset you use, if you use a very strict ruleset you are going to have trouble with false positives.

As posted above you can just remove the module from loading, make sure to restart apache after you remove it.

Removing mod_security isn't really the best response to this. Taking a look @ the log, and removing the offending rule IS, however.

If you haven't setup mod_security to log, then you should, then tell the client to upload again so you can see the offending rule and remove it

mod_security in and of itself isn't bad. It's another layer against stupid crap, but it's far from bad
