Anyone have a PC remote?

I am looking for a PC remote similair to:
http://www.remotecentral.com/streamzap/

or

http://www.snapstream.com/products/firefly/default.asp

I need it for basically one simple thing..
to control music from across the room.

Most of these remotes work with WMP/Itunes
but I need it to control itunes while itunes is minimized to tray.

[refer to attachment]

If anyone here has a remote [or knows someone who does]
please test it minimized to tray and let me know if it works.

Many of these remotes advertise that they work with itunes, but this does not necessarily mean while it is minimized to tray.

Another alternative would be an "open-source" type remote where I can input the proper macro to change song in itunes.

I basically need the following options:
  • Next Song
  • Previous Song
  • Volume Up
  • Volume Down

Anything else would be cool but not necessary.

Thanks alot.

I have an older machine running linux holding a bunch of MP3's that I built a RF Reciever for (through serial interface). Used my universal remote from comcast to control it as the AUX. Works just like a huge jukebox and cost about $8 or so.

RF Reciever is hidden in an old mouse (innards removed) so it just looks like anohter random PC but in truth it holds about 10,000 songs.

There is free software there for windows to control your computer from a remote as well (same software if I rememebr right, I'll look up more details for you if you're interested in this). You can map what each key does, so you could have it control winamp, itunes, or whatever you would like. You just choose the input signal and then the button that it should click IIRC.
