What are they?
Virtual servers are 'Virtual machines', slices of a real computer, dedicated to your needs. They act just like a real dedicated server - in fact, in some respects they are actually better than a Dedicated Server; because our virtual servers are powered by enterprise-grade Dual Xeon 3.2GHz processors with 4GB of DDR RAM. For short bursts of time, you have full access to these resources. When you have exceeded your burst quota, your processes are gradually slowed down until you have rebuilt your quota. This is why running applications which only require short bursts of power are ideally suited to a virtual server environment. You have access to the power your applications need, when they need it, but only pay a fraction of the price. All servers are connected to a 100Mbit port and can burst to that speed whenever required.
Full root access is provided, from which you can customize your server however you wish. The amount of processes (programs) you can launch is not limited, you are only restricted by the amount of burst time (CPU usage), RAM and Hard Drive space you purchase - detailed below.
