I read that earlier in chat. That's a darn shame. I won't post how I really feel about it because I don't think I can condense it into a family appropriate post.

One way it dies peaceful the other way it dies fighting for it's life in a cruel experiment that no life be it human or other species should be subjected to for entertainment.

I don't agree with it, but we slaughter millions of animals anyways..How is a dog any different? It was going to die anyways.

I don't think it's legal. I'm guessing it's a stunt. There are animal cruelty laws in every state and I'm sure the station's lawyers wouldn't allow it.

I'm no animal rights nut but I do believe that cruelty to animals is very wrong.

It has to be a stunt to get more people to visit their site or something.

I think the goal is fairly clear, shock reaction, to get a stir.

When push comes to shove, they'll likely either completely back out, or simply time how long it takes for the dog to go under (Then pull it out), as people are pointing out, it would violate animal cruelty laws. I'm guessing that people will whine, and various people will demand the right to take the dog in (thus the dog will find a new home, and awareness will be raised).

Drowning the dog wont do 'em any favors (eg. once its done, you wont raise any more awareness on the issue, you'd simply get concentration on how bad the people/station were for allowing it to happen), so aside from shock value from the claim, I cant see it happening.

I own a dog and love him considerably. Sick people...even if it is a joke.

Some people i know did some organizing, and police will be at the station tomorrow. In addition to that, local news crews will be reporting on it, and PETA will probably be doing something as well.
