I'm really suprised someone doesn't have this stickied somewhere, but I was wondering if there's a good site that gives general summaries on the top 5-10 hosting companies out there.

Either that, or maybe some of the best deals going on or something.

Or, perhaps some thread of really bad hosts that one should stay away from.

If anyone knows of any places that has some sort of list like this to review further, please let me know!

Remember its not the cheapest host thats the best, its the one that suits your needs, There are many a good host and fot that matter many bad ones. Remember research them before you singup & make sure you dont get yourself into long contracts just incase something does go wrong.

Best thing to do is do an in depth search of the hosts then make sure you do a search for reviews of the host here on WHT, such as searching up the hostname here http://www.webhostingtalk.com/search.php?s=

Also take a look at http://whreviews.com which has many guides, good luck.

The are probably hundreds of *review top 10* sites out there, but they appear to be basically pimping affiliate links and those running the sites may have never had experience with even one of them.

Your best bet would be asking for recommendations of a host that suits your needs from people who have actually tried the services of a host over a decent period of time.

Yeah anon.. you touched on my own reservations as to looking for a top10 site. I'd rather get my info from a message board, because places like these are composed of people like myself, who probably have the same or a similar set of expectations as myself, and would therefore be more accurate as to knowing which "top10" would be best.

The thing is, almost everytime I've found a decent deal in the past, I find 10 that are better, almost immediately after I sign up for one, but that I simply didn't know about despite all my previous research. What I was hoping to find by coming here were those 10 lol.


To tell you the truth, I've sort of been out of the market since I got burned on the Cyberwings deals, if anyone knows what I'm talking about. Boo Shawn White.

There are an unlimited number of hosting review sites out there... just give a searchon googleand check but the catch is how to identifygenuine ones from this clutter of sites.. wht may help..

Haha...isn't that the truth, Ali. Most of the top 10 sites IMO are just sponsored slots. I have had experiences with a couple on quite a few top 10 lists and they should be at the bottom 10.

No offense, but I have been reading this forum and many other places for 1+ year(s), but never heard any of these before with the exception of verio.

Also, where are the top companies that everyone is praising here, like pair, futurequest, liquidweb, etc?
