Payment Processors
I am just starting out in the web hosting business, and I haven't a large amount of money to spend. I need some advice on Payment Processors.
I need to know which is the best and which is the cheapest. Some opinions of the processors would also be great.
Regards,
Karl

The cheapest option for yourself would be PayPal. This may limit the type of clients that signup but should atleast get you started.

2checkout.com is nice. I'm not sure if they allow non US merchants. Eventually you will want to move up to a real merchant account. I've seen some people recommend http://www.forcetronix.com/ for EU companies.

www.authorize.net works well for us, It is a little pricey though, I agree with Gary, To start up Paypal may be a good option especially if your a little low on cash.
Good luck with your venture.

It all depends on where you are located and the monthly volume.
If you are in the United States, a merchant account and an electronic payment gateway (Verisign's Payflow, LinkPoint, Authorizenet.com) might be suited if you are planning on doing more than $1,000 a month. Payflow and Authorizenet.com will also charge you for their recurring billing module, so keep that in mind when doing your due diligence.
Otherwise, you might consider 2Check out and whatever you decide, consider Paypal inconjunction with both.

Depends on your volume, what you sell and where you are based, as Corey said.
There are two ways to go 3pp and a merchant acc+ payment gateway, depending on listed terms, as merchant acc may be not available for some types of business, locations and volumes...E-wallet/E-commerce platform for sale! Fully ready to work solution,
Tested by real merchants,
Full kit, including software, company, bank accounts!

If you are starting out, i like paypal, since they are now accepting CC orders without a signup, it is great. Just need a cart that supports.

Have a look at www.spacecoin.com
We are super pleased with them.
Easy and fast set up without the need software installations. We just link from our own site to a shopping cart that they provide.
And we do recieve founds in time (heard that others have big problems with that with other providers).

The best are 2checkout.com. There is no need to wonder, the conditions are perfect for the merchants and they are honest and correct.

2checkout takes 5.5% AND 45 cents per each order?
For an order of 8.95 that's almost a whole dollar. Paypal only takes 56 cents. Why in the world would I want someone taking a whole dollar for every sale.
There has to be cheaper...

I have tried to use paypal, even the fees is cheeper, but the procedure very difficult..May be because i`am malaysian, i must open my account at spore..
i have read someone had lost theire money in paypal, but there is many people still use paypal..I dont know it is a true story or not..
Worldpay is to expensive..
Set-up Fee: S$ 250
Annual Fee: S$ 650. A recurring, annual charge.
Additional Currencies: Domestic currency provided as standard part of Internet Merchant Account. S$ 138 per additional currency.
Transaction Service Charges:
Up to 4.5% on the value of all other transactions e.g. credit and charge cards.
S$ 0.16 per transaction for Fraud detection.
But i didnt hear anyone complaint about theire service..
2CO, i havent try yet..But 2CO only limited product can sell..
Any replica product is not allowed...But i hear majority people like to use 2CO..
authorize.net may be ok..But i dont know malaysia people can use theire service or not..the fess is quite ok..
Setup Fee: $125.00
Gateway Fee: $10.00/month
Statement Fee: $5.00/month
Transaction Fee: 2.25% + $0.25
Monthly Minimum: $25.00 * (Monthly Minimum represents the minimum monthly transaction fee. This fee is charged instead of the Transaction Fee only if the total Transaction Fee for all transactions processed in any given month does not equal to $25. )
Paysat..
I have intent to use it, but when read someone had been cheated, i have cancel to use it ...
So, now i decide to use worldpay, even the fees is to high, but
it secure..

Forget about 2CO. i had totally bad experience. After 2 years they just usurped my income and terminated my account saying my company is SPAMming around, although it's not the truth and no one of those morons wants to inspect this case. Now the case is by my attorney, so it's really not worth even to try them.
Also they have attractive processing rates, but I warn you - it's a trap, because I had a lot of charge-backs a lot of so called fraud orders. So just stay away from that crap. Better pay a bit more by another third-parity company or open your own merchant account.
Take care!

It's YOUR responsibility to stop fraud, not 2checkout's. Use another site for fraud checking, or don't allow payments to go through until you have checked out the order. With you having alot of chargebacks and fraud you probably were spamming around.
Not to mention having only 8 posts doesn't give you much credibility.

I had a lot of orders but the refund rate was criminal in comparison to other CC processors. My company made more then $100k using them in 2 yrs and they just terminated our account without any arbitration.
And JoshuaJames, my posts have nothing to do with my credibility. I put just the facts on the table, nothing else.

Although 2CheckOut offers some fraud protection to help out, it's still not entirely their responsibility. You should be regularly reviewing your orders and making sure to the best of your availability they are not fraudulent.
Not to mention you have signed up here to only post about how much 2CheckOut 'sucks'. AND have posted the same reply to two different threads on two different topics.
Your posting habits do not lead credibility to your 'facts'.

...
And JamesJoshua (or whatever) ... Yes, mainly I'm here to share the people my bad experience with 2CO, because I don't have much free time to talk around the forum about other stuff. I think this is the main function of this forum, experience sharing or? Let me know if I'm wrong???

3pp
You should choose your 3pp based on your products and marked...
If you carry totally respecatble products and do timely deliveries, 2checkout is an alternative....
If not...well choose another 3pp....Preferably a 3pp specialising in High risk merchandise.....
