YipeeTechnologies at WHT (Introduction)

Hello,

I've just joined WebHostingTalk. I found it at Google. I must say I am rather amazed. The other web hosting communities are not this active any longer. Kudoos to the WHT staff!

Here's something about me. I am a Web Hosting owner (nothing new here). I have had a one and a half year experience in the field of webhosting. I love making friends and helping people out (maybe that's why I do webhosting). I love reading, writing and debating. I would love to make some friends here at WHT, cause I believe that one can't enjoy oneself in any profession, unless they have friends!

Did I forget something? *reads her post* Oh yea, my name! You can call me Laura, that's my nickname.

So, anyone interested in discussing the increasing no. of 1$ webhosts and how to prevent them from spoiling the industry? [Hmm.... I guess this is not the right forum for it, so someone please guide me on where to place this topic.]

Thanks!

What's wrong with $1 hosts?

And kudos to the WHT regulars too!

Without regulars like me, there'd be nothing to moderate.

Yup, Kudoos to the WHT members!

There's nothing wrong with 1$ hosts as long as they offer quality solutions. But as you see, most newbies ofer cheap stuf for cheap prices and I am really concerned about the fact that they are leading the web hosting industry to a path which we would not like it to go into.

Ah customers that go to unimited everything for $1/mo hosts don't end up there very long, and usually after a few tries they come to a respectable host.

Yes, and there are very few such hosts. Most of the cheap hosting compnaies that I saw so far are either lack in quality or in support.

The fact is that for most companies it is impossible to offer cheap hosting and provide a quality service and a good customer support/service.

Yea. The problem is that these people do not realize three things -

1. Someday, they'll want to upgrade to a dedicated server.
2. Someday, they'll want a salary.
3. They'll have to bring in Helpdesks, Live Chat, Billing, Credit Card processing and other softwares into play.

And all the above, requires money.

I think you failed to read my username or domain name lol.

There is not a thing wrong with offering hosting for $1, it's all in the business plan.

Hi Laura nice to have you join WHT, we unfortunately don't have enough women so it is especially good when we have a new female member join. My name is Laurie but most just call me Doc.

Now if you could tell us a bit about yourself, what part of the world are you based in, hobbies etc and a photo would be nice. A lot of us have posted our photo on whtfaces.com

cheers

Doc

Oh, sorry, Im just referring to cheap hosts in general, I have not looked into your specific offerings. Im refering to those who try to offer the world for a dollar.

$1 hosts are fine as long as the host doesn't cheap on on service or something. Like I always say, you pay for what you get.
