Average commission rate of affiliation?

Sorry for another question so early.

I've heard that a good way to start out is by making many affiliate relationships to help drive clients to your site.

What is a reasonable % commission rate to pay them for each client they "send" over?

If anyone could shed any light on this I would greatly appreciate it.

Hello, Reeve

Well it basicly dont have to be $ commision, it can also be Upgrades,
Free month of hosting for each person they bring in, free stuffs like templates etc.. See it is hard sometime to determine a type of commision in $ if you have different packages and or those hosting packages are low in price. But mabey their's some thing about that in the Starting a Business section or mabey try this out : http://www.resellerguide.com who knows if you can find something there.

Good Luck

For % based commissions 20%-40% is about average. For $$ based commissions, $55-$75 is average. There are obviously those who pay less and some who pay more but you asked for averages.

There are also companies, such as 1&1, that only allow their existing customers to be affiliates and they give out free months of web hosting for getting somebody to sign up.

It can be 20-50%. Depend on your plan. It must be profitable to you and your partners.
