hostlegal.com- Do I need this?

Would it be a good idea to purchase hostlegal's legal documents for a new hosting business? I'm sure many (probably even the majority) of the hosting sites out there now don't/can't hire a lawyer for this stuff, so they end up writing it theirselves and unless they are really serious about this business and take the proper amount of time to research and write a good one, it's very flawed.

For informational purposes, I can't afford a lawyer at this time.

I'm almost positive that hostlegal.com is the way to go. Just would like to get a few opinions on their products. Are you very satisfied? Do they work really well?

Thanks!

This place is great! They are experts in the hosting industry, where your local lawyer may not know everything about hosting and the internet. However, in the case of a lawsuit providing the documents from hostlegal.com to your lawyer can make the case go a whole lot better!

I like Hostlegal a lot. I got a full package from them about couple months ago and I must say I love it. Of course I changed stuff around to fit me.

And none of them are lawyers. All it takes is one lawsuit to possibly lose your business. With HostLegal, you at leats know it has been reviewed by an attorney. Copying another hosting company's TOS won't help you or guarantee anything.

IMO the hostlegal package is a very good value for the price. It took a couple of hours to tailor the terms to my wishes and to format them in HTML (the originals are in .doc and .pdf) and I had to write my own SLA because there is none included, but overall a good point to start from.

Yeah, I've talked with the folks at HostLegal a few times for my show and I have to say they have a good handle on the services they are providing. Very easy to talk to as well, just in case you have any questions.

I think getting HostLegal to draw up things, then having a lawyer going through it and checking what you've said might be the best route to go.
