    Internet problem?

On one of my computers, it sorta can, and sorta cant connect to the internet.

On one hand, it can connect to gameservers, but on the otherh and, it cant connect to websites, msn, aim ect.

Is there anything that could be causing this?

I had something similar but I could connect to some websites and not to others, i just ran Spyware program, adware program and scanned for viruses and registry errors and my problem was resolved.

I would have presumed you already did that. As you haven't I would suggest MS Anti-Spyware.

Open a cmd prompt, and try to nslookup one of the websites that DIDNT work in IE.

    ex> nslookup thesite.com

If it doesnt resolve, your dealing with a DNS issue.

    Just my 2 cents

A friend of mine had a similar problem. He was able to play on game servers, but was unable to view websites. It ended up that he wasn't able to resolve any name servers properly so I came to the conclusion that the reason he was able to connect to the game server, is because the game he plays uses an IP, rather then a name server, to both connect and get a list of servers. I ended up having to format his PC and reload Windows.

Try pinging an IP in the command prompt, then try pinging a name server to see which one works.

    I was getting that too!

I could connect to any Counter-Strike: Source server, but I couldn't come on the internet via Firefox, Internet Exploder...etc.

It ended up to be a router issue.
