Which DNS side does not work? Authoritative or resolver? Can you ping any host by name from your server? Or does it have a problem with domains hosted on it?

Some times, it takes a little longer than 2hrs for the DNS/Nameservers to propagate, don't hurry into things and mess up.

    Its been set since monday

Using layeredtech, set my nameservers as they say on there forums paste 4 IP's into my resolv.conf

SO then assigned my Nameservers IP's and set them with DomainSite, but they won't ping

    ns1.scene-power.com
    ns2.scene-power.com

    Best Regards

    Hi,

What is the IP address layered tech has provided to you?

You need to check if you have added your ip address in whm?
second, you need to setup resolver.conf properly.

Basically, if you list out the steps here you have taken (with ip address), i will be able to assist you more.

OK i was told by layered tech to just paste the following into my resolv.conf:

    Code:
    72.36.190.2
    216.39.90.2
    72.36.191.2
    216.39.90.3
So thats it in that file

Then I went into the hostname set that to:

    Code:
    server1.scene-power.com
Then typed into one nameserver box:

ns1.scene-power.com and clicked assign IP address, this assigned the IP:

    72.36.203.139

then did NS2 this was assigned 72.36.203.140

I then went to my domain site and it said:

    Code:
A domain name must use our NS1.DOMAINSITE.COM, NS2.DOMAINSITE.COM, NS3.DOMAINSITE.COM, and NS4.DOMAINSITE.COM name servers in order for DNS Management to function.
so I set my nameservers to them four

Then in mangement I had the following choices to add a new record:

    Code:
    A
    MX
    CNAME
    NS
    TXT
    IPV6
Then it basically has the space for the prefix to scene-power.com and record answer where i put the IP for the nameserver then the TTL where I put 300

Me and a few other people have looked and it seems fine

    Thanks Mate
    Danny
