    * Running Linux. Where is logs?

Im running linux 24/7 now on one of my box's and its running a game server. Im trying to keep it all patched up and secure and was wondering what are the major logs on the system, and where are they located by default? Thank you .

I assume you mean the system logs, in that case they are in /var/log most likely.

they are all pretty well named so you can figure out what they are (messages = system messages, maillog = mail, etc..).

Most logs are stored in /var/log directory thus you can simply do a directory listing in that and find out which are the logs
