I've tomcat already installed and working on cPanel, but to get the JSP web application
working, I need to disable apache everytime which also disables many basic cpanel features
like stats, logging and even php doesn't work.
I'd like to run tomcat and apache both, just as normally, without having to use a port other
than 80, atleast not for tomcat. Tomcat requires more attention and care since we use it
primarily, apache is just for enabling the basic cpanel features and php.
Currently, there're two jdk installed:
1. /usr/local/jakarta/jakarta-tomcat-5.5.7 (installed, through cPanel Addon Modules)
2. /home/acct/jakarta-tomcat-5.0.27/ (Installed long back, but apache doesn't work with it)
Now, the application doesn't start at all before its transitioned from the previous jdk setup to
the new. How do I get it to work.
I'm willing to pay a nominal fee, if it can be resolved urgently.
I'd encourage you to take a look at the mod_jk Apache documentation. Basically you will run Apache httpd normally except for request that require Tomcat such as JSP's. mod_jk will forward those requests from httpd to Tomcat. Tomcat runs on whatever port you want it to and you just have to tell mod_jk where it is - it could even be on a different machine.
