I was about to reply in another thread but realise that I should not post unless I am interested in sharing.
It is not a good idea to shared root access to a server with someone you do not know. It is more trouble than anything else. Below are just a few:
- Root password can be changed without each other's notice.
- Server owner can do anything he/she wants, as that is the only person the server provider will listen to.
- Non server owner can leave with huge bandwidth bills for the server owner to pay
- and so on......
Get your own, if do not wish to pay all the money that is needed, go with shared hosting. There is nothing wrong with shared hosting. Need root access get a VPS.
i won't trust a stranger off of WHT/Internet to share a server that i use to generate money. i won't even share a game server.
too much risk. [/B]
Sharing a game server probably isn't that bad, think about all the gaming clans that do it. As long as there are not too many people who know the root password, its probably not bad. You could always restrict certain users, too.
Or do you mean sharing a server where you sell game servers?
