    HSBC installation

Hi all, has anyone installed the HSBC Payment Gateway system?

One of our clients is requesting this for her online shop but my tech says it could be a huge security issue

    Any thoughts or information?

    Thanks

Why would a bank issue insecure options?

I would think it will be perfectly safe. It doesnt really tie into the server that much (gateways).

Well I've installed this before , I think it was a shared C library needed to be installed and I don't think there is any security risk with that.

Yep, we've installed it for a customer before, although if memory serves me correct, it was on their own server.

Hi and thanks for all the replys

    I found this:

Access to the /windows/system23/cmd.exe could be solved by
making a copy of cmd.exe and put it in the php installation directory giving this execute and read permissions for IUSER/IWAM.
This safeguards the original cmd and allows php to run own commands.

    What do you think?

    Cheers

    Cass
