We are looking for a professional company to monitor some of our servers with custom backup apps and ensure that the services and data are restored if something goes wrong at any time for example, 4 AM. Proper instructions must be followed to bring the system back online.
We are not looking for a company who will only do the 'standard' stuff. If they do, often critical problems will be in the hands of careless admins who assume they can treat the system just as any other. They will not be able to solve the problem, or make it worse. I have had bad experieces with companies who glamourize or exaggerate their capabilities when it comes to working with non-standard software.
Anyone know of a good solution for such a case?
I am not focused on a low-budget solution.
I need a company that others trust and whose employees are accountable and who can follow technical directions specific to our needs for when downtime occurs.
My fear is that, say, the Web server will go down so they will just reboot or restart the service, see its up and then move on, when in fact if that happens more complex things need to be done. They need to always follow specific instructions.
Is this the case with ServerWizards? Or anyone else for that matter.
We have FastServerManagement as our server admins, or now known as PlatinumServerManagement. One thing I like about them is that they have their own monitoring system that they have created, and when something fails, they actually log on to the server to troubleshoot and fix the problem to prevent it in the future.
I am not sure how ServerWizards deals with service failures, but based off a 3 month experience, that's how PlatinumServerManagement does it. They go in and fix it.
Good luck with your search.

Serverwizards take over complete management of the server. When you signup with them, they harden the server and configure their monitor system to watch all services for failure. If anything goes wrong, they handle. I am notified also of problems and have responded to them, just to find out they are already logged in and working on the problem.
In addition, they handle all updates and patches, along with installing and configuring any 3rd party software. They do it all.
