Thread: MySQL to Oracle

    MySQL to Oracle

I am currently developing an ecommerce application that must use oracle for storage and am looking at shopping cart scripts that I can modify. OSCommerce uses MySQL and I am thinking about replicating the DB to Oracle. Has anyone tried this or any ideas about the best way to proceed?

I wonder why you "must use oracle" if it's for technical reason.
If not for technical reason, please ignore me.

Find a shopping system that uses an external database abstraction layer, then change the options of the database layer so that its using Oracle.

I am not sure if oscommerce uses an abstraction layer or not. If it doesn't you are in for a very big customization job (would be worthwhile to just start from scratch).
