    Off to Italy

In case anyone wonders why I'm not around in the next week, one of my orchestras is going on tour to Italy. (Specifically, we've been invited over by the University of Bologna. Don't ask me why, I have no idea.)

To repeat, I am *not* boycotting WHT as a result of their decision to sell out^W the board to those scumbags^W^WRackshack.

Wow. I don't even have one orchestra.

    Have fun!

Hmm, flying to Italy to play music... poor guy Have fun.

Remember duty free is your best friend, avoid the food on the plane and use as much of the 'free booze' onboard as you can.

Oh, and take a good book, as onboard movies lately have been ghastly!

Have you taken a laptop on an international flight since September? Very annoying having it checked and checked again

    I'm back.

It was a good trip, we played lots of fun music (Faure requiem, with an Italian choir, which was quite interesting linguistically, and a whole bunch of baroque stuff). Didn't have much time for touristing, but I'm not much of a tourist anyway.

Re: laptops and books on flights... remember that I'm in the UK now. From here to Italy is a two hour flight; it actually takes longer to get from Oxford to the airport than it does to get from the airport to Italy.
